Fubara Celebrates Muslims on Eid-ul-Mawlid, Urges Peace, Tolerance and Unity

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has extended his greetings to Muslims in Rivers State and across Nigeria as they celebrate Eid-ul-Mawlid, the occasion commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad.

In his message, Governor Fubara urged Muslims to use the celebration as an opportunity to reflect on the virtues and values associated with the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad, particularly peace, love, tolerance, humility, forgiveness and service to humanity.

The governor said these values remain important not only to Muslims but to society as a whole, stressing that putting them into practice in everyday life could contribute significantly to peaceful coexistence, unity and sustainable development in Rivers State and Nigeria.

Fubara Calls for Reflection on the Meaning of Eid-ul-Mawlid

Governor Fubara encouraged Muslims to look beyond the festivities associated with Eid-ul-Mawlid and use the occasion to reflect on the lessons that the life of Prophet Muhammad offers to humanity.

He highlighted values such as peaceful coexistence, compassion, patience, humility and forgiveness as principles that can help strengthen relationships among individuals and communities.

According to him, when citizens consciously demonstrate these qualities in their interactions with one another, they can help create an environment where differences are respected and communities are able to live together peacefully.

The governor noted that Nigeria is a diverse country with people from different religious, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, making tolerance and mutual respect particularly important to the nation's continued peace and development.

Governor Prays for Muslims Across Nigeria

Fubara also offered prayers for Muslims celebrating Eid-ul-Mawlid, asking Allah to accept their prayers and bless them with good health, prosperity, success and lasting peace.

He expressed the hope that the celebration would bring renewed blessings to Muslim families and communities while also encouraging people to remain committed to values that promote peace and harmony.

The governor's message also acknowledged the role of faith and prayer in the lives of many Nigerians, while urging citizens to complement their prayers with positive actions that contribute to the wellbeing of society.

He said the peaceful practice of religion should continue to serve as a means of strengthening communities rather than creating division among people of different faiths.

Rivers State Celebrates Religious and Ethnic Diversity

The governor stressed that the people of Rivers State have a shared interest in protecting the state's religious and ethnic diversity.

He noted that the peaceful relationship between Christians, Muslims and followers of other religions remains an important part of the state's social fabric and should be protected by everyone.

Fubara therefore called on residents to continue to live together with love, tolerance, mutual respect and understanding, regardless of their religious beliefs or ethnic backgrounds.

According to him, differences in religion and ethnicity should not become reasons for discrimination, hostility or division.

Instead, residents should recognise the common interests that bind them together and work collectively toward the peace and development of the state.

Fubara Appreciates Muslims for Their Contributions

The governor also expressed appreciation to Muslims in Rivers State for their prayers, peaceful disposition and contributions to the development of the state.

He acknowledged the role played by citizens from different religious communities in building the state's economy and supporting its social development.

Fubara said the progress of Rivers State depends on the collective contributions of its residents, regardless of their religious or ethnic backgrounds.

He therefore encouraged Muslims and other residents to continue supporting initiatives that promote peace, unity and development.

The governor's message also reinforced the importance of citizens working together despite their differences, particularly at a time when peaceful coexistence remains essential to the progress of communities across Nigeria.

Peaceful Coexistence Remains Important

Fubara's Eid-ul-Mawlid message placed strong emphasis on peace and peaceful coexistence among residents.

He urged the people of Rivers State to demonstrate tolerance in their daily interactions and to respect the beliefs and traditions of others.

According to the governor, building a peaceful society requires people to show understanding toward one another and avoid actions or statements that could create unnecessary tension.

He maintained that religious and ethnic differences should be treated as part of the diversity that makes society unique rather than as reasons for conflict.

The governor also encouraged residents to embrace forgiveness and compassion, values which he said could help strengthen relationships within families, communities and the wider society.

Governor Reassures Residents of Equal Protection

In his concluding message, Fubara assured the people of Rivers State that his administration would continue working to ensure that all residents are protected and treated fairly.

He said the government would continue to work toward providing an environment where everyone can live in peace and enjoy equal opportunities, regardless of religion, ethnicity or place of origin.

The governor's assurance reflects his call for unity and inclusion, with an emphasis on ensuring that no resident is disadvantaged because of their religious or ethnic identity.

He urged residents to continue supporting peace and unity while contributing positively to the development of the state.

Eid-ul-Mawlid Message Centres on Unity and Service

The governor's message to Muslims on Eid-ul-Mawlid ultimately centred on the importance of applying positive religious and moral values to everyday life.

By highlighting peace, love, tolerance, humility, forgiveness and service to humanity, Fubara encouraged residents to look beyond religious differences and focus on the values that can bring people together.

He expressed the hope that the celebration would strengthen the bonds among the people of Rivers State and contribute to greater peace and understanding across Nigeria.

As Muslims celebrate Eid-ul-Mawlid, the governor urged them to continue promoting peaceful coexistence and to remain committed to the development of their communities.

He also encouraged all residents of Rivers State to embrace one another, respect their differences and work together for a more peaceful and prosperous state.
