The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 60-year-old man, Abdullahi Abubakar, over the alleged kidnapping of a 16-year-old boy, Usman Dauda, in Shira Local Government Area of the state.
The teenager was rescued unhurt during a police operation after his father reported that he had allegedly been taken from Misau town to Bangala Village.
The incident was reported at about 10pm on September 28, 2026, when the boy’s 50-year-old father contacted the Yana Divisional Police Headquarters to report that his son had been abducted.
Police said the teenager was allegedly being moved towards Bangala Village and that the suspect was reportedly planning to take him onward to Kano.
