Police Intensify Nationwide Operations As Kidnap Victims Rescued, Suspects Arrested And Weapons Recovered

The Nigeria Police Force has reported a fresh series of security operations across several parts of the country, with police and other security personnel arresting suspected criminals, rescuing kidnapped victims and recovering firearms, ammunition, vehicles, motorcycles, illicit drugs and other exhibits.

Operation In Kebbi Leads To Recovery Of Rifles And Ammunition

Police operatives, working together with military personnel, conducted a clearance operation in Gumki Village, within Arewa Local Government Area. According to the police account, the operation resulted in the neutralisation of one suspected terrorist.

Security personnel also recovered a PKT rifle containing 174 rounds of live ammunition and an AK-47 rifle with 14 rounds of ammunition. Four motorcycles, mobile phones and other items were also recovered during the operation.

Among the items recovered was a Toyota Venza valued at approximately ₦10.5 million. Operatives also recovered 255 SIM cards, four mobile phones, an international passport and tramadol, alongside other exhibits.

The police also recovered an English-made Beretta pistol that had reportedly been abandoned by the suspect.
